Artist Spotlight: Megan Lindsey

Each month, TAPCO releases a custom sticker created by a local artist as a way to highlight creativity and celebrate the spirit of the South Sound. The sticker series has grown into a fun community tradition seen in branches and local events, reminding us that art has the power to connect people. Starting this month, we are excited to begin artist spotlights that share the stories behind each design and the talented artists who bring them to life.

Tell us a bit about yourself and how you got started as an artist.

I am a mom of three and I have lived in Poulsbo with my family for the past three years. We have loved everything about living in the PNW and it has definitely inspired my art. I have had a love for art for as long as I can remember but it wasn’t until my oldest was born 6 years ago that I turned my art into a business. It provided a way for me to do what I love and be able to stay home with my girls.

What inspired your design for this month’s TAPCO sticker?

As a self-proclaimed “cozy artist,” I have grown to love drawing and painting outdoors scenes with little cottages. Since the mountains and forests are prominent here, I often include them in my work and I wanted to do that for the sticker as well.

How would you describe your artistic style or process?

I definitely lean toward the cozy and whimsical side of art. My art isn’t always realistic - I don’t always have straight lines or perfect proportions but I think that adds to my art and makes it uniquely mine.

What do you enjoy most about being part of the PNW creative community?

I have been able to attend a few art/maker events since moving here and I’ve found that everyone is so kind and supportive. There isn’t much of a competitive feeling here which I appreciate.
