What is the Secured Entry System and How Does It Work? 

Our new secured entry system is designed to enhance the safety of everyone at our branch. Here is how it works: 

  • The main entry door will remain locked at all times.
  • Individuals will be granted entry through a security camera and audio system monitored by branch staff.
  • Designated staff inside the branch will release the lock, providing controlled and seamless access for individuals. 

Why Did TAPCO Implement This System at 6th Ave.? 

Our 6th Ave Branch was chosen to pilot this new secured entry system because it is one of our busiest locations, serving many individuals daily. With this system, we are enhancing safety and creating a more secure environment for individuals, the community, and staff. Similar systems have been highly effective in creating a secure experience at other financial institutions, providing peace of mind and ensuring everyone feels safe and welcome. 

By adopting this proactive approach, we are reinforcing our commitment to our staff and individuals’ safety while maintaining the convenience and service you have come to expect from TAPCO. 

Will This Make It Harder or Slower for Me to Access the Branch? 

Not at all. The system is designed for quick and hassle-free entry, and access will be granted promptly. You may be asked to remove your mask, hat, or sunglasses to be granted entrance. 

Will all branches have a secured entry system? 

Currently, this system is being piloted at our 6th Ave Branch. We will assess its success and member feedback before considering adding this at our other locations. 

What should I do if I have trouble gaining entry? 
If you encounter any issues, use the intercom system to communicate directly with branch staff, who are ready to assist you. 

Will I be asked to remove anything? 
Staff may ask you to remove sunglasses, masks, scarves, hats, or any other item that may block a clear view of your face. 

Can I bring family or friends into the branch with me? 
Yes, additional individuals can enter alongside you. 

Can I enter if I am not a TAPCO Member? 
Yes, anyone in the community may enter to conduct or inquire about banking services from TAPCO. 

Will this system affect after-hours access to ATMs? 
The ATM at 6th Ave. Branch provides 24-hour access to the right of our entrances. The secured entry system applies only to branch access during business hours.  

Is the camera system recording me when I enter the branch? 
Yes, for security purposes, the camera system records activity at the entry point. This footage is securely stored and used only to ensure a safe environment for individuals and staff. 

Does this system use Artificial Intelligence (AI)? 
No. 

How does this system protect my privacy? 
The system is designed to balance security with respect for your privacy. Only authorized staff have access to monitor and manage the entry system.
