At TAPCO Credit Union, community engagement is not separate from the work we do. We see ourselves as a community organization that also provides financial services, which means supporting the well-being of the people and neighborhoods we serve in ways that extend beyond banking.
Our approach begins with meeting people where they are and finding meaningful ways to give back. We create opportunities for connection, provide helpful resources, and support experiences that bring neighbors together. Our free Santa photo event at the Bonney Lake Branch is one joyful example of what that commitment can look like.
During the holiday season, we enjoy reflecting on the community moments that continue to make us smile. In December, our Bonney Lake Branch became a festive gathering place as local families joined us for free professional photos with Santa.
Holiday music played throughout the branch as families enjoyed hot chocolate, coffee, and candy canes while waiting for their turn. Over the course of the evening, we welcomed 22 families, many visiting our branch for the first time. Each family received a professional digital photo that they could download, share with loved ones, or use for holiday cards and keepsakes. Santa photos are a treasured tradition for many families, and offering the experience at no cost helped make it more accessible during a busy and often expensive time the of year.
What we remember most is the warmth and excitement inside the branch. Families arrived dressed for their photos, children eagerly waited to meet Santa, and our team had an opportunity to connect with neighbors outside of an everyday financial conversation.
The evening reflected what we believe a local credit union branch can be. It can be a place where people receive financial guidance, but it can also be a welcoming community space where families gather, relationships grow, and meaningful memories are created.
We remain grateful to every family who joined us and helped bring this special evening to life. Looking back, it is easy to see why this Bonney Lake holiday memory still makes us smile.
