TAPCO Credit Union is proud to be featured in Season 3 of Opportunity Knocks, the reality series on PBS that was named “Best Feel-Good Show” after beating The Voice, Shark Tank, and American Ninja Warrior.

Season 3 premieres Monday, June 1st, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. ET on PBS WORLD and has a special focus on single moms working hard to build stronger futures for their families.

This season follows families facing real financial pressure, including debt, housing challenges, predatory lending, medical bills, income instability, and the stress that can come with trying to keep a family moving forward. Their stories are shared with care, dignity, and a focus on practical next steps.

TAPCO is featured for our role in supporting Ashley Coté, a Seattle-area single mom working three jobs while raising two sons, including one with autism. With guidance from Opportunity Coach Louis Barajas and support from TAPCO Credit Union, GreenPath Financial Wellness, Washington Autism Alliance, and other trusted partners, Ashley worked to address high-interest debt, create more breathing room in her monthly budget, and take steps toward greater stability for her family.

TAPCO helped Ashley address high-interest debt, including a predatory loan at 178% and high-interest credit cards, through a consolidation loan that simplified payments and reduced financial pressure. Our role was one part of a larger support network helping Ashley access practical tools, trusted guidance, and real next steps.

Stories like Ashley’s show the role credit unions can play as part of a trusted support network. Financial stress is rarely about one moment or one decision. It can be shaped by caregiving, income pressure, rising costs, debt, access to support, and the challenge of knowing where to turn. Opportunity Knocks helps bring those realities to light while showing what can happen when families are met with encouragement, practical resources, and trusted community-based support.

The impact of the series extends beyond the screen. According to The Opportunity Initiative’s grant reporting, sustained impacts over five years for families featured in the series since Season 1 show an average credit score increase of +88 points, 55% debt reduction, and average household income increases of $17,946.

We are grateful to be part of a season that highlights dignity, opportunity, and the power of helping people take one next step. For TAPCO, this work connects directly to our purpose of bringing humanity to financial services and supporting members and families in our community with care.

After the premiere, viewers can watch Opportunity Knocks Season 3 on PBS WORLD and local PBS stations, and stream on PBS Passport, PBS.org, YouTube @oppknockstv, and OpportunityKnocks.net.

Opportunity looks good on our community.
